This diet requires you to balance your protein and carbohydrate portions rather than restricting calories or certain food groups. The Zone is Sears’ term for proper hormone balance. </p>
<p>If your body’s insulin levels are neither too high, nor too low, and glucagons levels are not too high, then anti inflammatory chemicals are released. Sears’ idea is that it is a 30:40 ratio of protein to carbohydrates which causes this effect labeled, “The Zone.” Sears also says that this is a heart friendly and healthy diet for most people. </p>
<p>The human body is highly efficient at burning calories because it cannot burn calories and store them at the same time. It takes a while for the body to switch back to lower insulin levels after eating. It has been found that using stored fat for energy causes rapid and steady weight loss. </p>
<p>The Zone focuses on the 40:30:30 ratios of calories consumed daily from carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. The exact percentage is still a debate but the one provided has been used in many studies and has been known to show significant results at normal budget prices. </p>
<p>The Zone diet also includes an intake of the right ratio of Omega-6 fatty acids. Dr. Barry Sears is actually the one who made taking expensive Omega 3 fish oils a common and popular thing to do. </p>
<p>D. Sears also focused on a hormonal paradox of which low fat increases the production of the hormone insulin, which is what our body produces to store more fat. He believes that monounsaturated fats in a food will contribute to the feeling of satisfaction and modulates the rate at which carbohydrates are absorbed in to your bloodstream.</p>

<p>If your body has slow carbohydrate absorption is means lower insulin levels which equal less stored fat and a faster switch into burning fat. When your body is in desperate need of energy then you can’t burn fat because of high insulin levels and also causes you to feel tired. This happens because the brain is running on glucose and high insulin levels which deplete blood glucose levels. </p>
<p>The Zone diet requires you to eat as much protein as the palm of your hand, the highest amount of raw vegetables that are non-starchy as you can, and enough carbohydrates to keep perfect mental function because the brain runs on glucose. Also eat enough monounsaturated oils to keep hunger pangs at bay.</p>
<p>The Zone diet took America by storm in 2003 and 2004 with celebrities boasting their success stories about the diet, but Sears claims man miss the point. Sears thinks that they are ignoring the importance of hormonal balance and the influence of dietary balance on digestion and hormone production. </p>

<p>A low carbohydrate diet has been highly recommended for anyone trying to lose weight in an easy healthy way. Many assume carbohydrates are pastas and bread but would think you are joking when you tell them that vegetables and fruits are considered carbohydrates as well. Carbohydrates are like different forms of simple sugars linked together in polymers.</p>
<p>You shouldn’t restrict carbohydrates completely because we all need a certain amount in our diet to supply energy to perform essential body functions. These carbohydrates are food to your brain which uses glucose as its main source of energy. The brain uses more than 2/3 of the carbohydrates in your body while you are sleeping. </p>
<p>Your body stores any carbohydrates that aren’t used immediately in the form of glycogen in areas of your body such as the liver and muscles. The glycogen that is stored in the muscles is basically inaccessible to the brain but the glycogen stored in the liver can be broken down and sent into the bloodstream to maintain healthy blood sugar levels. </p>
<p>You liver can only store carbohydrates in the form of glycogen in small amounts and therefore can be depleted within a short amount of time, maybe twelve hours or so. This means that the liver’s glycogen must be maintained constantly. </p>

<p>When your glycogen levels are full in the liver and muscles then the excess carbohydrates are turned into fat and stored on your body for future use. Don’t think for a second that carbohydrate free food won’t be stored as fat, any excess calories are stored as fat.</p>
<p>Foods high in carbohydrates will cause an increase in blood glucose which causes the pancreas to secrete the hormone insulin back into the bloodstream. Insulin lowers your blood glucose levels. </p>
<p> The issue here is that insulin is a storage hormone which can put aside excess carbohydrate calories in the form of fatty tissue for future use. Increased insulin levels not only tell your body to store fat but also tell you to not release it. This makes it virtually impossible to lose weight, and very easy to keep gaining. </p>

<p>You can also apply ice to the affected area for 20-30 minutes multiple times throughout the day. Some may think that uric acid crystallization is increased with low temperatures but a recent study proved that those who use ice packs experienced a relief in pain without negative effects. </p>

Ephedrine is a natural stimulant that is a key ingredient in many of the top diet pills on the market today and is known to mainly affect the cardiovascular and respiratory systems of the human body. Ephedrine causes the blood vessels to constrict and enhances certain actions of the heart.</p>
<p>It isn’t a surprise that many companies will tell you just about anything to get you to buy their product. Keep in mind that no weight loss supplement can be approved or disapproved by the FDA so make a wise decision when taking dietary supplements that include stimulants.</p>
<p>Some products containing ephedrine have been known to claim that this ingredient speeds up your heart, similar to the way that exercising does. Seems tempting, a workout in a bottle. When using their product you will experience a great decrease in fat and an increase in lean muscle tone. You will get the maximum results if you use the product prior to exercising and eat a completely balanced meal.</p>
<p>In fact there were studies performed that concluded that lean muscle mass is preserved better with ephedrine containing formulas during a weight loss eating and exercising plan. Some physical sports competitions and events don’t allow ephedrine because they feel it is a performance enhancing drug.</p>

<p>There was a study performed that included 180 patients who were between the ages of twenty to sixty-five years old. For the study the scientists and researchers divided the patients up into four different groups: ephedrine and caffeine, ephedrine only, caffeine only, and placebo. They were trying to compare the different effects the three supplements had on the human body.</p>
<p>Each patient was given their specific supplement dosages three times a day, one hour prior to eating. The researchers’ main goal was to determine which supplements were the most effective for weight loss and how healthy each type was. They were physically examined every two weeks during the 24 week long process.</p>
<p>Every two weeks they would have their hip and waist circumference, weight, blood pressure, resting heart rate, as well as their side effects. Results found that 141 patients completed the entire study process. Out of those 141 the group with the highest weight loss was the group who took ephedrine and caffeine together.</p>
<p>The researchers also found that blood pressure decreased in all of the groups who participated in the study. There were minor side effects noted but were generally gone by the end of the research process. Side effects for the placebo included many things such as dry mouth, constipation, and the jitters.</p>

<p>After Dr. Robert Atkins had treated over one thousand people he introduced the Atkins diet in a series of interesting books that began with the Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution in 1972. Dr. Atkins recently revised his book Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, and updated some of his ideas, but stayed true to the main concepts.</p>
<p>The Atkins diet franchise is a massive industry in itself and bas boosted the sales and arrivals of other low carbohydrate diets. The Atkins logo is visible through licenses proprietary branding for food products and other related merchandise.</p>
<p>The Atkins diet has a theory that western eating habits were the main contributing factor to the high rate of over weight and obese people. The foods were high in carbohydrates especially sugar, flour, and high fructose corn syrups. Their other theory is that saturated fats are highly overrated as being a nutritional problem and only trans fats and hydrogenated oils need to be cut out completely.</p>
<p>With the Atkins diet the main emphasis is on the daily diet, but there are also other factors that include nutritional supplements and daily physical activity. The Atkins diet requires a restriction of carbohydrates in order to force your body’s metabolism to switch from burning glucose to burning stored fat. This process is known as lipolysis and begins when the body has entered the state of ketosis because it has run out of extra carbohydrates to use.</p>
<p>Dr. Atkins claims that his low carbohydrate diet causes a metabolic advantage, in which the body is burning more calories than on other restrictive diet and even gets rid of excess calories. One of his studies estimated the advantage to be around 950 calories a day.</p>

You should treat sugar alcohols very carefully because they are slower when it comes to converting to glucose.</p>
<p>The introduction phase in the Atkins diet is designed to cause your body to quickly enter the state of ketosis. Your carbohydrate intake is severely limited to twenty net grams per day. You are however allowed to eat foods that include most meats, up to four ounces of cheese, three tablespoons of heavy cream, two cups of salad vegetables, one cup of other low glycemic low carbohydrate vegetables. All alcohol beverages are forbidden.</p>

<p>One of the most revolutionary diet ideas to come along is something called the Zone, which was originated by Barry Sears, Ph.D. The Zone is based on the idea that we should return to the diets of ancient peoplesdiets which stress fruits, vegetables, and meat. The diet does not deny people carbohydrates, but simply limits their use. Dieters are encouraged to sharply curtail their intake of pasta and potatoes. The Zone works according to a formula of 40/30/30, meaning 40 percent carbohydrates, 30 percent fat, and 30 percent protein.</p>
<p>There is a physiological basis to the Zone. Dr. Sears developed the diet in an effort to limit the amount of insulin in the body. This is because a large amount of insulin can lead to a build up of fat, causing obesity and other medical problems. People on the diet are encouraged to obtain their carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables and their fat from olive oil and other monounsaturated fats.</p>
<p>The biggest advantage to the Zone diet is that it can lead to significant weight loss. It is also healthier than some diets, since it eliminates non-nutritious carbohydrates and emphasizes fruits and vegetables. The diet encourages people to eat oftenat least every five hours. It is also a low-calorie diet; the typical female dieter will consume only about 1300 calories at most following the Zone. Another positive aspect of the Zone is that it discourages consumption of junk food, which may be the basis of much weight gain.</p>
<p>Some dieticians heartily endorse the Zone, while others dismiss it as being too difficult to follow. The diet can also be costly, because of its heavy reliance on protein products. In addition, some critics see the Zone as being too complex, forcing dieters to spend too much time trying to do various calculations.</p>
<p>But perhaps the biggest disadvantage of the Zone is its high protein content. Such a diet has been linked to heart disease and is actually condemned by the American Heart Association. In addition, the Heart Association questions whether the Zone is actually effective in enabling an individual to lose weight over the long term.</p>
<p>It has been said that the Zone diet is the polar opposite of a vegetarian diet. This is curious, considering that vegetarians are generally healthy and are less likely to suffer from heart disease. The fact that vegetarians tend to be slim also seems to poke a hole through Dr. Sears theory that starchy vegetables can lead to weight gain.</p>
<p>People tend to gravitate to the Zone because it offers them the opportunity to indulge in foods that would be restricted on other diets. Also, the diet can be more filling than other weight loss plans. The problem, however, is that a number of the claims made about the Zone are unproven. As a result, despite Dr. Sears research, the diet has been dismissed as a fad in some quarters.</p>

<p>Dr. Sears contends that people are overweight because of insulin resistance; however, it is difficult to verify his claims. It would appear that people are fat for all sorts of reasonsbecause of family history of obesity, eating patterns, emotional eating, and lack of nutritional knowledge. As a result, it might be said that Dr. Sears diet is based upon a false assumption.</p>
<p>The Zone benefits from a number of celebrity endorsements. Actresses in Hollywood credit the Zone with helping them to lose weight. On average, a dieter can expect to lose five pounds during the initial two weeks and one pound a week after that introductory period.</p>
<p>Still, some critics charge that the Zone takes the fun out of eating. Whether this is true or not depends upon the opinion of the individual dieter. However, one thing is clear: the Zone is a diet phenomenon. Love it or hate it, its one of the hottest diet trends on the market today. And it appears that, despite some negative publicity, the Zone is here to stay. As always, you should check with your physician before starting any weight loss regimen. He or she will closely monitor your progress and can determine whether you are suffering any ill effects as a result of your diet.</p>

<p>Lose weight while you sleep isn&#8217;t a diet, it&#8217;s about changing your nutrition, but only a little bit. I&#8217;m going to write down the fact now and I&#8217;m going to explain them later.</p>
<ol>
<li>3 Meals a day</li>
<li>5 hours between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and supper</li>
<li>No milk or lactic food for breakfast</li>
<li>No carbohydrates for supper; only proteins, salad is good and ok</li>
<li>( Try some workout at the morning on empty stomach )</li>
</ol>
<p>Now I&#8217;m going to explain how you can lose weight while you sleep when taking care of the 4 (5) points I mentioned above:</p>
<p>With 3 meals a day you don&#8217;t run the risk of having too much calories a day. You can have as much as you want to eat for each meal. The 5 hours should be ok between the meals, you shouldn&#8217;t be too hungry until you&#8217;ve the next meal. Be sure to drink a lot of water between every meal.</p>
<p>No milk or lactic food for breakfast: Milk will increase your insulin and insulin is know as a hormone that will make you fat!</p>
<p>Be sure to have proteins and salad for supper and no carbohydrates! Your body might convert carbohydrates to fat over the night, but with proteins this won&#8217;t happen. Salad is high on vitamins and dietary fiber. One more (and very important) thing is that if you&#8217;re going to do some easy sports, maybe a walk, in the morning on empty stomach you&#8217;re going to lose weight extremely faster. Sports in the morning is a booster! (but not necessary). Reason is that you&#8217;ve carbohydrates the last time the day before for lunch and your body is extremely low on carbohydrates. When you&#8217;re doing (easy) sports like a walk in this stage, your body is going to use your fat reserves to get the job done. And you want to get rid of your fat, right?</p>

<p>I can understand if you do worry about not having any carbohydrates for supper - I didn&#8217;t liked the idea very much, too. BUT now I know better. I told my wife about this idea and as she is cooking for me, she payed heed to it. What have I had for supper? Salad with delicious fried king prawns, a cutlet, a big steak, &#8230; I bet there will be many more things you can think of that are high on proteins and low on carbohydrates.</p>
<p>That it so far. I think it&#8217;s pretty easy. And the best thing is that I tried it by myself and it working great. Enjoy to lose weight while you sleep!</p>
